Who operates Evie
James Publishing operates the Evie text and voice assistant for Can't Afford A Lawyer, Attorney Christine Hansley's Florida bankruptcy firm, and handles Evie privacy requests. This notice covers Evie and its embedded widget. It does not describe the firm's other websites, forms, or services.
General information, not legal advice
Evie is an AI assistant, not a lawyer. Responses may be incomplete or incorrect. Using Evie does not create an attorney-client relationship or mean an attorney has reviewed your conversation. Evie is not a channel for confidential attorney-client communications. Please do not share confidential legal details, Social Security numbers, passwords, payment details, or financial account numbers.
What is processed and why
Your conversations. We and our technology providers process your messages and Evie's replies to provide the service. Voice conversations are processed and transcribed. We store conversation text and session details, such as time, language and technical status. James Publishing may review transcripts to operate, troubleshoot and improve Evie.
The firm's contact record. After each conversation, our providers process the transcript to create a record of any contact details you shared, your language, a brief summary, and your follow-up choices and consent evidence. This record is saved even if you decline follow-up. The firm's tracker contains this record, not the full transcript. The firm, its team, and anyone who obtains the tracker link can view its contents.
Optional follow-up. We share your contact record with our follow-up and messaging providers only when you agree to firm follow-up, separately agree to texts, and provide a cell number. Follow-up includes automated texts in English or Spanish and may include emails if you provide an email address. Without all three requirements, no downstream follow-up starts.
Website operation. Our hosting provider processes technical information to deliver and protect the site. This app does not add advertising trackers or save conversations in its own persistent browser storage. Reloading the page does not delete provider records.
Technology providers
ElevenLabs supplies the conversation, transcription, and voice services and uses AI model and infrastructure providers to operate them. Vercel hosts the Evie application. Zapier processes post-conversation data and routes extracted details; Google Sheets stores the lead tracker; LeadDash supports team follow-up; TextP2P handles messaging and sequence enrollment. These services process information under their applicable terms and privacy practices; Evie is not a zero-retention service.
James Publishing has turned off ElevenLabs' workspace setting that allows workspace data to train ElevenLabs models. This does not turn off processing or storage, or undo any earlier use.
Read the ElevenLabs Privacy Policy and Vercel Privacy Notice for provider information.
Audio and retention
Saving audio in Evie's ElevenLabs call history is disabled. Voice is still processed and transcribed. This setting is not a promise that all providers operate without logs, backups, or other retained data.
New conversations after the September 23, 2026 retention change are configured for deletion of transcripts and derived personal-information fields after 30 days. Conversations from before that change are outside this deletion schedule. Ending a conversation, collapsing the widget, or closing the page does not delete the stored transcript.
That ElevenLabs setting does not delete separate records in Zapier, Google Sheets, LeadDash, or TextP2P. A common automatic deletion schedule for those systems has not been verified. Contact James Publishing to request access or deletion across the connected services.
Provider logs, backups, and any separately retained copies may follow different schedules. ElevenLabs documents backup retention for up to 30 days after database deletion and notes that debugging and moderation logs may retain related data. The 30-day conversation setting does not promise removal of every record from every system within 30 days.
Your choices and privacy requests
Follow-up and text-message permission are separate choices. Starting Evie is not consent to texts. You can decline or withdraw permission during the conversation. Reply STOP to stop TextP2P texts. The team reviews other replies manually; a reply does not necessarily pause the sequence automatically. Stopping messages does not itself delete stored records.
You may choose not to use Evie. If you do not want microphone audio processed, do not start voice mode. Text mode also processes and stores conversation text. Select End conversation to stop an active session; collapsing the widget does not end it.
For questions or requests to access or delete information, contact James Publishing, Attention: Privacy Contact, at privacy at jamespublishing.com. Replace " at " with "@" when emailing.
Include the approximate conversation date and time and whether you used text or voice. Do not resend sensitive details. We may need additional information to locate the conversation and verify that it belongs to you. Deletion can be subject to applicable legal requirements and provider limitations; emailing a request does not itself delete records.

We will update this notice when Evie's data handling changes. The update date identifies the current version.
